President Barack Obama
All I can say is wow! For a man who usually has too many words, I am quite speechless! I spent the night hollering and screaming while my friend and I drove around town with our “change” banners while banging pots and pans through the windows and sunroof and blowing our horns at everyone we saw while trying to avoid hitting the deluge of people who where exuberantly dancing in the streets! (whew, that was a mouthful…lol)
Words just can’t describe what took place last night. I have never been so inspired in my entire life! Barack Obama is truly a phenomenon! I thank God that in spite of all of Obama’s adversities, roadblocks, and hurdles, he had enough strength and determinationto fight for what he believed in…fight for the promise of a better America and a new era of change.
Last night marked the dawning of a new day, the beginning of a new era, the arrival of a fresh and new ideology for America. I have never felt as much hope for America and the world as I did last night! Thank you President-elect Barack Obama! Thank you…

I was inspired as well, and felt more “patriotism” than I can ever recall feeling–ever. Most people I know were crying like babies!

A dream come true. God is so awesome!
I think the world is truly grateful to the people of America, to the great man Obama and the philospohy of Bob the Builder:

A great day indeed.
It is unfortunate that I will now have to pay for the poor decision of the majority of voters. They want “change” and brother we are going to get it. I now fear that change is all I will have left in my pocket after this new administration is through. It has been my observation that Liberals think and act on emotion and assumptions. Conservatives think and act on logic and fact. Critical Thinking demands that, if followed though to the logical conclusion, our population should realize that the rest of the world doesn’t think nor does it act in the Liberal’s world/mindset. Undoubtedly the majority of liberal voters has never traveled outside of the U.S borders and therefore cannot understand how the rest of the world lives. Socialism doesn’t work well for the benefit of the people and as Liberals attempt to move this country into the European governmental model the more dependent our population will become. No one ever became stronger by someone else carrying the load, or exercising or for them. When a population looks to the government to”fill my gas tank, or “pay my mortgage” the power and freedom of the people is relinquished to the government. There are no free lunches. In recent conversations with both Democrats and Republicans who voted for Mr. Obama less than 1% could provide a logical reason for doing so. Several people were honest to say that they simply voted for him because he was black. I am impressed with that type of honesty. Many stated that they wanted “change” but couldn’t tell me that change is other than “getting rid of Bush”. Many, many others are one issue voters who support social issues that are near to themselves but do little to build and strengthen America.
Those who have taken a life (such as soldiers and police officers) are truly some of the few who know how precious and fragile a life is. It is rather cavalier for Liberals/Progressives to support the taking of a life through abortion or euthanasia.
Only those who are grounded in building up rather than tearing down engage in rational thinking. I am amazed at how angry Liberals become when any issue contrary to their narrow mindset confronts them. “Liberal” is a misnomer when describing “free thinking” Democrats or Republicans. If this segment of our population could step aside from themselves and truly see their behavior as it appears to others many would change their behavior and become more tolerant of others.
The “ground water emotional thinking” and the “Senjia President” mania will soon dry up once Mr. Obama has his seat on the throne but the deep well of logic an reason is yet but four years away.
Very funny post, VNV240. Yes, I definitely agree that the “logic” on which George Bush clearly depends has left your pockets bursting at the seams.
There is no logic in voting for a candidate that agrees with his predecessor who is now known in history as the worst and most incompetent president ever. It’s obvious that critical thinking is not governing your mind at all. You’re fearful and cling desperately to the model to which you’re accustomed. The majority finally made a visionary choice from which you will benefit as well. And if that’s not enough to console you, in 4 years you’ll get your chance to vote for “logical” choices like Palin.
It is an odd thing to be without the right words, isn’t it? I know the experience of the last several days well. Thank God I (and you) are having that particular problem!
Blessings..
Obama is just an amazing phenomenon. As I reflect on the campaign, one of the more recent points of amazement is when it was raining in Pennsylvania and both presidential candidates were scheduled to speak but only President-elect Obama showed up in a raincoat, jeans and sneakers to speak to the over 9000 people were willing to stand in the rain WITH HIM, brave the cold and wet weather and hear what he had to say. McCain and Palin…CANCELLED! How presidential. (Sarcasm is alive and well.)
There are a lot of leaders that have aspired to lead but only a few leaders are born to lead. But what is most amazing about night before last’s presidential win is that beyond all the glamour, extraordinary oratory, and the awe factor of Obama, he still is just a man; a great man but a man nevertheless. I think the lesson learned passed the historical milestone of this election is that we can be just as amazing as this man! All things are possible through the greatest man that ever lived, Jesus Christ. I now have the audacity to hope! And just like President-elect Obama, what I am hoping for will come to fruition!
Out with the old and in wuth the new! Change is good, but Positive Change is Life Saving!
It’s about time we had some real leadership. People are drawn to Barack Obama because they recognize it. No one has captured our imagination like Obama in many years. He is an intelligent man, yes, and so is McCain, but Obama truly has a vision, a grasp of the problems facing all of us, and an understanding that we, as a society have to work together to solve those problems. He has NOT presented himself as our savior or liberator, but as someone who will listen, and suggest, and encourage. As good a man as Bill Clinton seemed, (notwithstanding his personal demons), Barack Obama is simply better. This country needs restoration, healing, and a vision for the future that involves all of us and is for all of us. ’bout time! I am pumped.
for middleman — by your logic, then women who have had abortions are among those who know ‘how precious and fragile life is’. And i believe in many cases this is true.
But I also believe that their choice is their choice and there really is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ about it, for example in my case I got pregnant while using an IUD which became embedded in the fetus. I wish people would let the whole issue rest already, women miscarry all the time too (twins in my case), does that make us bad people ?
The whole thing is a red herring intended to stir up fundamentalists and moralists.
Obama nailed this issue quite nicely in the third debate, when he said that “sexuality is sacred and people should not engage in (sexually) cavalier behaviors”. If people did not in fact engage in sexually cavalier behaviors then abortion would be pretty much limited to medical necessity, which will always be present to some extent.
He won my vote with that single sentence. My sentiments exactly.
VNV240,
Just wondered if this Socialism under Obama is any different than what we are doing right now with the 700 billion we just offered to these corporate giants and now this 25 billion were getting ready to hand over to Detroit? I dont need anyone to pay my bills but as someone who does make over 250K I would have no problem with paying an additional $3000 on every extra 100K I make in hopes of it helping those less fortunate than my family.
You say “It is unfortunate that I will now have to pay for the poor decision of the majority of voters” This is The United States Of America and It is still we the people right?
